Conveniently located in beautiful Downtown Fort Worth, surrounded by all of the finest shopping and dining, as well as being close to the DFW Airport, The Worthington Hotel is a great choice for a weekend stay in the area!

ARRIVAL

The Worthington hotel is located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth at 200 Main Street, near numerous DFW attractions, including the fort worth stockyards, the Dallas Museum of art, and much more!

Texas always makes sure it lives up to its 'Everything's Bigger in Texas' reputation!

The Worthington first opened in 1981 as one of the first buildings in Sundance Square.
The 53,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space at this location make it a great venue for any type of event! With 8 million dollars invested in renovations, this lobby shows off Texas charm and style.

If you’ve read my previous hotel articles, you know that I have an affinity for travel and great hotels.
You may also be aware that my mother and I travel all over the country creating content for Stuff Oui Love.

Our goal as Content Creators was to find a hotel suite that would allow us some outstanding photo opportunities!

The Worthington team had prepared this very sweet surprise. Yummy treats from a local bakery. We truly appreciated the thoughtfulness behind this gift.

One of the best architectural features of this hotel was the staircase in our room! A true example of post-modern design, this staircase is more of a work of art than just a means to an end. Postmodern architecture, also called “PoMo”, relies on individuality and experimentation as guiding principles. A movement against traditional, classical designs, it sought to break the rules of construction to make buildings dynamic and fun.

The Postmodern home design incorporates elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Architecture experts say this era was a time when "anything goes.".

A complete facelift has been given to this hotel, but the 1981 staircase stands the test of time. I am sure architectural enthusiasts such as myself are grateful for that.

The penthouse boasts 1248 square feet of indoor space, as well as 240 square feet of outdoor space, a baby grand piano, 2 story windows overlooking the city, lounge access, and more!

The Worthington hotel offers a unique and charming experience. But it is the beauty of the spaces and attention to detail that make it stand out as a prize.

Although the staircase is the centerpiece of this suite, it's not the only thing to see. A great deal of style and comfort await you on the ground floor as well…

The suite life : ‘van cliburn Suite’

In this Suite, you can always find beauty and timelessness no matter what time of day it is.
Views of downtown are unobstructed from the 6 person dining room!
The living room area also can be used as an extra bedroom if you are planning on hosting guests!

The dining room is adjacent to a butler's kitchen, which offers all the conveniences you could ask for, as well as a wine cellar and other wine storage. Another delightful feature - a Texas sink!

The top of the landing is where you will find a quiet oasis. The lofted bedroom offers a panoramic view of the entire suite! If you like a cool, quiet resting area, then you will appreciate these 360 blackout curtains!

Whether you enjoy sleeping in a 500 thread count Egyptian cotton bed or relaxing in a walk-in tub, I'm fully confident that this presidential suite would leave you smiling! Visit the Worthington's website for more information on this suite.

The Fort Worth Stockyards were on our agenda in advance of the big birthday dinner!

My suggestion for a one-day adventure in Fort Worth, Texas, comes from our recent experience. Take a trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards!

We aren't just talking about any old stockyard - this is the place that made Fort Worth famous. In this historic district, you can see how the Wild West used to be. With its twice-daily cattle drives and old-fashioned gunfights, this place is well known as 'Cowtown' in the region. It is often said that Fort Worth is "where the west begins."

Don’t forget to write your name on a local cactus!

You don't need to worry if you didn't bring your hat and boots to Texas- Fincher's White Front Western Wear has you covered!

A local favorite since 1902, There is a full range of western wear from infants to adults at Fincher's.
Even though this store is situated in a tourist area, it still continues to serve real western families! Fincher's has everything you need for western wear, including hand-creased hats, properly fitted boots, and awesome souvenirs. It was so exciting to discover this local favorite, and we appreciated the warm hospitality of the staff.

The Planning:

The restaurant's staff spared no expense to make sure that all Birthday details were handled in the most thoughtful and caring manner. This is not at all surprising for a Dallas establishment. Dallas is proud of its hospitality.

Mom’s Birthday dinner had finally arrived! For this special girls weekend, we decided to reserve an exclusive birthday dinner for two.

I worked directly with staff members to plan the perfect “Birthday moment” at the end of the night.

The Tequila room:

As part of our dinner, we booked Toro Toro's exquisite tequila locker room!
It is like dining in the locker room, except... you're drinking Tequila! For a celebration, it is a perfect recipe. In addition to enjoying a unique position within this restaurant, you also enjoy a more private dining experience!

The room itself can accommodate 16 people.
The dining room has a main table with a capacity of 10, three additional tables with two chairs each. Whether you are celebrating a large occasion or dining with your loved one, this is the ideal setting.

there is no extra charge to reserve this experience, it’s simply ‘first come first serve’!

THE MEAL

We enjoyed exquisite flavors from start to finish on our trip to the Worthington.

The team at the restaurant have taken great care to ensure both the quality of the food and its presentation are impeccable. The restaurant is equipped with traditional wood-block carving trays indicative of many Brazilian predecessors. Seeing the chefs arrive at your table to carve the freshly prepared entrees is always exciting!
As a finishing touch, a sprig of rosemary is used to lightly brush a signature glaze on the tomahawk ribeye.

Each steak is accompanied by chimichurri, barbecue sauce, and grilled shishito peppers, so you can personalize each bite with what your taste buds desire.

One could easily look at the beautiful exhibit of assorted meats and forget about the sides. We would be the exception.
Though the sides we were served had a familiar flavor, the manner in which they were prepared is truly one-of-a-kind.

Mashed potatoes, salad, or both... these sides will never let you down!

The Result:

A beautiful meal, great conversation, and a lavish celebration. We certainly had a wonderful time while spending our special day at Toro Toro!

the food & drinks far exceeded our expectations, and the team took such incredible care to make sure that even our small dinner (with just a party of two) felt like a grand event to remember!

The Worthington offers a variety of breakfast options!

Also latin- inspired… You can once again visit the hacienda restaurant on the mezzanine level of the hotel, or order to-go fare!

With a world-class chef on site, the best recommendation (when ordering food) is simply to say "surprise us", and that's just what we did!

We experienced a variety of Latin-inspired breakfast dishes in our room, each as delicious as the last.

Please note:

The hotel has now shifted from its traditional in-room dining to a "to-go" dining service following the advent of Covid-19. please ask which dining options are currently serving upon arrival!

Visit the Corrida coffee shop for breakfast (on the hotel's north end).

We loved this cafe! With many options, Corrida does a great job serving customers! Enjoy La Colombe Coffee and other specialty beverages while exploring the internet in the lobby lounge and taking in the downtown atmosphere.

Even the busiest customers can grab a quick meal from corrida's "ready to go" offerings!

A trip to Worthington's lounge and bar is a must if you're in Dallas! You're sure to find a quaint spot to sit and enjoy your evening among over 30 different breakout spaces!

Each Sunday, Toro Toro hosts its bottomless brunch featuring a Latin DJ and a la carte menu. Enjoy bottomless food and traditional brunch cocktails for just $29 per person. A la carte food options start at $11 and up.

📌Be sure to pin these $3 vouchers and enjoy a discounted cocktail on your next visit! 📌

I highly recommend this $29 brunch! It was the perfect way to cap off our wonderful weekend in Dallas!

If you're like us and want to try everything, the tapas style brunch is perfect for you!

The following is my favorite item at Toro Toro: Brisket Benedict! The moistest smoked brisket you could ask for on an English muffin. The poached egg comes with a hollandaise sauce flavored with Aji Amarillo.

Toro Toro needs to be on your brunch list!

Make the most of your time at the Worthington by exploring the property and surrounding area!
The Terrace is a stunning and unique event venue that is perfect for memorable gatherings. A spacious layout allows it to accommodate up to 400 guests for an outdoor event in Fort Worth.

Do not forget to bring a swimsuit to the Worthington, as it has a wonderful pool & Jacuzzi for you to enjoy!

Whether it was hanging out with the Worthington team or making new friends at the Fort Worth Stockyards, we had a real Texas welcome on our weekend in Dallas!
